Please Ask, Do Tell: Part 2

For far too long have people been forced into silence, a silence that neither yields equality or freedom. This is the silence that conjures depression, subjugation, and ostracization. A creed that keeps people quiet in the name of sustaining what traditionalist preach to be “proper.”  This silence is what keeps men on the DL, women in closets, and soldiers in fear of dismissal. Fortunately, current events display to us that things are {actually} getting better. That dare I say it, hope might be more than rhetoric used to win elections. This marks the week that congress finally overturned “don’t ask, don’t tell.”
