The Craziness about Black Mental Health

This past Sunday, I had the amazing opportunity of hosting Black Almanac, the longest running public affairs program in the Southeastern region of the United States. I spoke with two veterans who now run non-profits focusing on mental health issues. According to the Count Me In Census Report, black patients were more likely to be admitted to intensive care and secure services, and be given higher doses of antipsychotic medication. They were also 29% more likely to be forcibly restrained and 49% more likely to be placed in seclusion. Below is a visual dialogue of what took place.
