Don’t Miss the Chicago International Youth Peace Movement Kickoff Concert f/ FM SUPREME!

Next Tuesday, the city of Chicago will witness the launch of The Chicago International Youth Peace Movement.

Part of a larger grassroots campaign for peace, the event will feature a concert headlined by Chicago’s very own FM Supreme, and coincide with the release of her powerful new music video, “No Turning Back.”

As a proud partner for the event, The Black Youth Project will be on hand, and we want to see each and every one of you there as well!

It all goes down September 25 at the Shrine Chicago. Doors open at 7pm; the festivities get underway at 8.

Civic Leaders, Professors, Historians, Activists, Educators & Artists Invite YOU to CHICAGO INTERNATIONAL YOUTH PEACE MOVEMENT Kick Off Music Video Release celebration + concert TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 25TH, 2012

Chicago-born, international performing artist, educator and activist, Jessica Disu aka FM SUPREME will perform in concert on Tuesday, September 25th, 2012 at The Shrine Chicago at 8 pm.  The concert is a celebration of the release of FM Supreme’s music video “No Turning Back,” and the launch of The Chicago International Youth Peach Movement. The song “No Turning Back” was created in the hope of inspiring a local and global youth peace movement, and features a guest appearance by Chicago music producer, Ramon O’Donnell aka Prince Talent.

The concert, part of a grassroots campaign for peace led by FM Supreme in partnership with Hip Hop arts and education social justice group Kuumba Lynx (KuumbaLynx.org), is a fundraiser for Kuumba Lynx’s overseas efforts. The group has promoted social justice initiatives and performed services for youth in Chicago communities for the past 15 years. The Chicago International Youth Peace Movement will highlight the voices of youth and demonstrate their leadership skills through art and social action.

Produced by CommonWealth Music Group in partnership with The Shrine, Chicago International Social Change Film Festival, The Black Youth Project and Chicago Votes, “No Turning Back” concert will be held on September 25th, 2012, National Voter Registration Day.

Chicago Votes (chicagovotes.com) will be registering new voters. The Black Youth Project (blackyouthproject.org), a research group based at The University of Chicago, will also be on site taking public pledges from college students, teachers and professionals about their commitment to helping decrease gun violence in our communities

Opening acts: Prince Talent, Milo & Otis, T.J Crawford’s new Hip Hop group “JAH”

Doors open at 7p. Event begins at 8pm sharp.

Proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to Trinity United Church of Christ’s “20 Something Ministry”, Chicago International Social Change Film Festival and Kuumba Lynx.
