Chicago Public Schools CEO Jean-Claude Brizard STEPS DOWN

After only 17 months on the job, Jean-Claude Brizard has agreed to step down as CEO of Chicago Public Schools.

He will be replaced by Barbara Byrd-Bennett.

She will be the 6th CEO of Chicago Public Schools since former Mayor Daley changed the school structure with his takeover in 1995.

Brizard leaves his $250,000-a-year job to be permanently replaced with Barbara Byrd-Bennett, a former teacher, principal, and Cleveland Schools CEO who has been filling in as Chicago’s interim chief education officer for the past six months.
