Police find multiple guns, lots of ammo at Zimmerman’s home
According to court documents, police found five guns and more than 100 rounds of ammunition in the home shared by George Zimmerman and Samantha Scheibe. Police were called to the couple’s home on Nov. 18 by Samantha Scheibe who claimed that Zimmerman threatened her with a gun and broke a glass table.
After police arrested Zimmerman, they found a 12-gauge shotgun, an AR-15 assault rifle and three handguns in his house, according to the warrant made public this week.
Zimmerman was charged this month with aggravated assault, battery and criminal mischief. He is free on $9,000 bail. Several conditions were put on his bail, including a prohibition on guns. He is also not allowed to have any contact with his girlfriend or travel outside the state, and he must wear a monitoring device.
When Zimmerman was arrested, he told police that Scheibe got angry at him after he they broke up and he told her he was moving to Texas. According to the former neighborhood watch captain, Scheibe started throwing his belongings around, picking up two of his guns and threw them on the floor. Zimmerman has entered a plea of not guilty in relation to the incident.
