Fourth grader denied right to play on school basketball team

Report: black girls more likely to be punished in school than whites

The internet has erupted with a new hashtag “dedicated” the black girls and women. The problem is that it is incredibly racist and offensive to some. #StopBlackGirls2013 polluted Twitter this week with various photos of Black women compared to anything from gorillas to farm animals.

A study on the experiences of black students in suburban schools has found that black boys have an easier time fitting in than black girls. Black boys can use racial performance to seem tough, cool and athletic. Black girls are often viewed as ghetto and aggressive.
